Have posted in "Rodeo" section re: my barrel racing lessons/ questions

Grew up with horses did pony clubs/ camps etc never did any major competition or anything fancy, lived for riding bare back around acres and swimming with horses etc

Life took me in a diff' direction for some time now. My passion never died, just my desire.. the flame has been lit and now thinking of what to do in the future.

I apologize as this thread has already been started, can't seem to post reply.

As a youngster I did some barrel racing and loved it!
Life took me in another direction.. I miss it and am ready to think about it seriously again.
Moving to QLD next year so will look at starting lessons from then on.

Where do I need to start with all of this again.. it's been years since my butts even touched a saddle lol's

I would love someone to talk my ears off with all info on barrel racing from feeding, exercises, saddlery etc etc where I need to start?? riding lessons beginner and work up? you won't bore me, want info over load if anyone would love to share their passion?!

I have always loved Arabians and have read a lot great new info on the little guys doing well across the globe.. yippeee!
I'm tall 5'11 so would 15h be fine?

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good riding school near Newcastle? I went to a riding school for about 3 years in high school and had my own horse for 5, but had to give it all up to move away for uni. Now I'm desperate to get back into it! Would love to do dressage if possible too.
