Bloody middle of the nowhere and bloody Bigpong... I'm back though LOL

I started my baby bitless, got hell for it lol.
Quite like the look of your halter. I got a few from lodgeropes, quite like the leather cover though. My new horse needs a new one (I haven't got about 10 for 3 horses...)

I think that people must remember that whatever riding we do we MUST put the time into training them. Its time in the saddle that makes the difference.
I was the first to get permission to attend competitions, but not actually compete here.
Shame that the Kalgoorlie Pony Club has now stopped me entering anything of theirs, Golden mile equestrian club will let me enter anything of theirs bitless and as we have alot of unofficial days, so we can actually get a ribbion lol.

My OTTB in the Coolgardie day parade

First time we were allowed to compete bitless, but not allowed to get points. Did a good dressage test though. Allowed to be judged but not allowed to win a ribbon, don't care as long as we are allowed to get out and about. Oh and the contact is light, this phot isn't so good and yes i'm a fatty on a tb. Oh Cross-under which we don't use anymore. This is the warm-up area... we didn't look this forward.... well maybe a little.

Friends horse I compete in a cross-under for her. Again, we don't get to win anything, but we do get our scores for us personally. Shame other clubs won't do this.

A rescue standie (she is happily in a new home) leather side-pull

We wear helmets and boots and no the risks

oh and this is my Brumby pony that I rescued with a very damaged mouth. Tongue damaged severly and scars on his mouth.
No bit EVER for him.
This is his cross-under, but now he has a side-pull or just the halter.

I just don't get that attitude at all. I get the reasons for people wanting kids at ponyclub to use bits, because it's *perceived* as being a safety issue, but disallowing adult riders, not to mention the *supposed* principles of dressage... IMO points should be taken off for 'needing' a bit!

...But then again, maybe they're all just scared of where it would lead. Mules were apparently banned from competing in reining because Pat Parelli did too well with a mule with no headgear! Can't be allowed to show up those QH's in shanked bits now...

Hey Loosie, too right you are!

I did get a better test score than the woman that won... was a bit funny.

Especially as it went up on the board and there was me a non-competitor with the highest score. Lots of whispers about how dangerous it is too lol

I too agree.
Next year, we are going to trot our babies round e-grade, cause you're allowed to the x-country and the showjumping bitless.
We will push to go non-competative in the dressage. Will keep working on them.

- may care to educate them, and anyone else by sending them a link that shows a horse & rider winning a reigning pattern bitless, bridleless, saddleless -

The link is at the bottom of my home page here:- HORSE HANDLING INSTRUCTION - Home

That invariably opens closed eyes and minds.

Enjoy

Unfortunatly I get Ï wish I could do that". They could if they made the effort, put the time in and learned something new.

Can't change you see, it would be wrong Can't have us doing anything different, it might hurt the brain cells URGHHHHH!!!!!!!

Sorry had enough of people who won't learn, had a lady today who I trim her pony, cause he won't stand for the farrier (umm... like training and patience would help *sigh*).

So she will put up with my strange idea that horses don't all have to wear shoes, especially a brumby pony like hers.
She thinks i'm strange as I don't have shoes on my young Cleveland bay x, if I don't have ta, she's never had shoes.... but she lectures me on it all the time, its about time she has shoes, she is four you know...
That mare has never been unsound. OH well... will go back to my wierd little box. Sorry for the hijack and the vent...
